Satish Kaushik Charged of Copying Storyline

Producer Ramoji Rao claims that Satish Kaushik has used storyline of his Telgu film Chitram for Teree Sang.

The film is about to release, however it got a twist in between when the director received a legal notice from producer Ramoji Rao. According to the allegation the film has a significant similarity with the Telugu film Chitramproduced by Ramoji Rao in 2000. He further claims that no filmmaker has right to make a film based on the storyline, mannerism or treatment of the mentioned film.

The troubled director, Satish Kaushik said, “I can’t believe that they saw any similarity between my film and theirs. I know their Telugu film Chitram is about teen pregnancy. But so are so many other films like Juno, Fifteen And Pregnantand Where The Heart Is.”

Kaushik later added, “My lawyers are replying to the allegations of plagiarism right now. Show me one shot in Teree Sang, which is similar to Chitram even in passing, and I’m ready to do whatever they want.”

The film is based on teenage pregnancy. In Chitram, actress Reema Sen played the pregnant teenager. However with Teree Sang, newbie Sheena Shahabadi is making her debut, who is also a daughter of yesteryear actress Sadhana Singh.

Hera Pheri Team Is Together Once Again

Director Priyadarshan is happy now days because he managed to bring together his faourite trio- Akshay, Suniel and Paresh once again after nine years. The film is titled as De Dhana Dhan, which is being produced by Ratan Jain.

In 2000, Priyadarshan made Hera Pheri with the actors, which was the hit comedy of that time. Since then the director was wanted to do one more film with the team, but in between his joy was snatched by director Neeraj Vohra, who directed Phir Hera Pheri in 2006 with the same actors. Talking about De Dhana Dhan, Priyan said, “I’ve made a funny film… it is for the audience to patronise it now.”

But to get together was not so easy for the four. Now Akshay turned out as a superstar. Priyan was busy in directing films and giving hits one after the other. However reports say that Akshay and Suniel had some clashes during the making of Sing Is Kingg. Suniel was supposed to do the role of Sonu Sood in Singh Is Kinng, but at the last moment he withdrew from the film.

But now Akshay is glad to work together again. “It was not easy for all of us to come together. Something or the other kept happening which prevented us from working together. Though we wanted to, because Hera Pheri was a great experience, and we had the time of our lives shooting for that film. But things were just not falling in place. I’m glad that we were able to do De Dhana Dhan,” says Akshay.

Boys Bonding On the Sets of Parmeet Sethi’s Film

The boys band of Parmeet Sethi’s directorial debut- Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das and Indian Idol contestant Meiyang Chang having great time on the sets of the film. Vir Das is not only having great chats with Chang, but also with Shahid Kapoor. Sometimes their chat goes on for hours and even director Parmeet Sethi also joins them when he gets some free time.

However the only female from the lead cast of the film, Anushka Sharma likes to be in the van with mother who is always with her on the sets.

Padma Shri Awarded Astad Deboo To Choreograph Aishwarya

The Padma Shri fusion dance choreographer, Astad Deboo has been hired by director Mani Rathnam to choreograph Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan for his filmRaavana.

ASTAD Deboo who is well known for his contemporary and modern Indian classical dance style, for the first time experimenting with Bollywood. But with the exception of M F Husain’s Meenaxi to which he agreed to lend his creativity.

It’s a life and death dance sequence for which the choreographer has chosen a tandav of passion, redemption and retribution. The dance steps are complex and moreover Ash has to perform it bare feet on unsafe grounds of jungles of Athirappilly, Kerala. Also she has to do it twice, one for the Hindi version with Abhishek and another for the Tamil version with Vikram.

Well, Ash has no problems with it as along as hubby Abhishek is accompanying her. However she is well known for her great dancing skills onscreen. Remember the Nimbuda Nimbuda from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Kahin aag lage from Taal or the Crazy kiya re from Dhoom 2. Choreographers from Saroj Khan to Shiamak Davar often praised her enthusiastically about her professionalism when it comes to following the instructions.

SRK Gets Invitation from PM of Malaysia

Malaysian Prime minister invited Shah Rukh at his birthday party as the guest of honour.

Just after he landed in Mumbai after vacation in London with family, he took off to Kuala Lumpur to attend the birthday celebrations of Malaysia’s Prime Minister Datukshri Najib Tun Razak on Saturday.

“The PM and his wife Datinshri Rosamah were very kind to me when I shot Don here. As a friend, I was invited to spend an evening with them,” said SRK.

Interestingly, Shah Rukh sang some line of ‘Kuchh kuchh hota hai’ at the celebration for the fans of film present over there.

Last year, Shah Rukh was honoured by the Malaysians by giving him the Datuk title. The title is same like a British knighthood. For the first time the Malaysians gave this title to a foreign actor.

Imran-Sonam to Work Together

Let’s tell you some trivia about Sonam Kapoor that the actress love to watch movies and you can often spot her at a suburban theatre along with sister Rhea. Recently Spnam spotted with Punit Malhotra (the aspiring director and nephew of designer Manish Malhotra) and friends at theatre catching Imran Khan’s recent film. However the most interesting thing is that Sonam and Imran are working together for a film being produced by Dharma Productions and being directed by Punit Malhotra.

The young actors make a good couple. Ask them who saw the June 2009 edition of Filmfare. However filmmaker Karan Johar says, “These two make a striking couple.”

Katrina Making Salman to Wait For Marriage

Actress Katrina Kaif has finally come out of her closet and accepted that she and Salman Khan are together. In fact it’s Katrina who is making Salman to wait for the marriage.

For an interview for a well known magazine, Katrina spoke boldly about her relationship with the Bollywood macho man. Before now Katrina was ignoring all those questions with her smile. But now she not only revealed about her relationship with the actor but also told some saucy details oh their relationship. Katrina stated that she is so much in love with the actor that she always carries his picture with her all time. She later adds that Salman is a wonderful person.

Katrina also dismissed the well known belief that Salman is over possessive of her and stated that she is extremely happy in her relationship.

When asked about marriage plans, Katrina explained that Salman is ready to tie the knot, but it’s she who is not yet ready and making him to wait for it.

Well its a known fact to everyone that Salman and Katrina are a couple, but it just became official.

Slumdog Kid Azharuddin Done A Short Film

Seems like the film (Slumdog Millionaire) has not only brought the praises and sympathy to the kid actors of the film but also brought work. The SM star, Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail has recently completed shooting for a short film titled Dukandar.

The SM kids are lovely and talented which earned them lots of love from across the world and one can trust that when the kids were attended by the Hollywood celebrities at the Oscars. Post SM lots of offer kept coming to Azhar and one of them is Dukandar, directed by a film student from the New York Film Academy. The director and producers of the film are very happy about the output and performance of the young actor that they believe it will sure fetch accolades at the international film festivals.

Priti Sagar Singh, producer of the film says, “The script of Dukandar was written much before SM released. When director Amritpal Singh Bindra watched the film, he completely fell in love with Azhar. Unlike Slumdog… where Azhar is part of the cast, this 20-minute long film revolves solely around Azhar’s character.”

However the little talented actor is also excited and happy about having completed the film. Talking about his character in the film, Azhar says, “If I start narrating the whole story, it will take me the whole day! In a nutshell, the film is about how my father asks me to look after the family store. I have a friend who teases me and insists that I should go watch the India-Pakistan match instead of sitting idle in the store. I try to resist the temptation but in the end, I agree to go for the screening of the match. But when I leave, I forget to bolt the door of my shop. And guess what? Once I return, I find that my store has been robbed!”

The film has been completed in eight days and done on a budget of Rs. 25 lac.

The executive producer of the film, Parimal Sampat said, “We have shot the film on location. The film is in Hindi with English subtitles. Shot on a budget of Rs. 25 lac, Dukandar uses sync sound. While the director is Indian, the film’s DOP (Pedro Ciampolini) is non-Indian. They both feel that Azhar is a natural actor. His performance is so good that we are hopeful that this short film will create a buzz in the festival circuit too,” says executive producer Parimal Sampat.

Shameen, mother of Azhar is also happy about her son’s progress, “Offers keep coming for Azhar. People want him to travel abroad too. He has done this film but before plunging neck-deep into a filmi career, I want him to first concentrate on his education,” said Shameen.

Rahman’s Son Becomes Singer

Ace musician AR Rahman’s six-and-half-year-old son, Alim sang a full song for a Hollywood flick Couples Retreat.

It was a proud and unbelievable moment for the music maestro to realise that his kid has made way to the music world. AR Rahman himself has composed music for the song. Alim wants to become a playback singer. So wasting no time he delivered his first song just at the age of six-and-half.

One source revealed, “AR Rahman’s family and people in his office have still not got over the fact that Rahman’s little son has sung the song. They are very excited and happy and can’t stop talking about it. His mom and dad are very proud of him.”

The young singer sang full song for the Hollywood film, Couples Retreat, which is a comedy film starring Jason Bateman, Vince Vaughn and Kristen Bell. The film is being directed by Peter Billingsley. However the song has the light theme and the film is slated to release at the end of 2009.

Director, Imtiaz Ali of Jab We Met fame comes up with another interesting love story Love Aaj Kal. Saif Ali Khan (Jai Vardhan Singh) and Deepika Padukone (Meera) are playing the lead roles in the film. The film is depicting love stories of two different eras i.e. love today and love yesterday as the film name indicates Love Aaj Kal.

The couple of today’s generation (2009) Jai and Meera live in London. They love each other but don’t believe in marrying. Jai says, “These Heer-Ranjha, Romeo-Juliet type janam janam ka saath type couples exist only in story books.” So when situations make them go in different directions, they decide to call off their relationship thinking that long distance relationships don’t work.

However, in the love story of 1965, Veer Singh (Rishi Kapoor) falls in love with Harleen, when he sees her for the first time. The moment he swears that “is janam mein aur har janam mein… yehi meri votti banegi - Harleen Kaur.” Later to have just one glimpse of her, he travels thousand kilometers by train and yet don’t utter a single word to her. The young Rishi Kapoor is played by Saif.

Both the stories go simultaneously, which may cause confusion to the audience if they miss their attention. Well the two male characters makes thoughts about each other like Veer doesn’t understand how Jai can be so practical and handle the heart matters without any passion. However, in contrast Jai can’t understand how Veer can be so stupid and simple who travels miles to see Harleen.

The talented Imtiaz trying to show that how the relationship process is different for different eras, but at the end the experience of being in love remains same. Songs of the film like Aahun Aahun, Twist, Chor Bazari and Ye Dooriyan being composed by Pritam are already making a rage. The film is targeted for youth and it will make you fall in love of love once again.
